AI · the honest version — United Kingdom
Everyone's been sold the same picture: one quick prompt and a finished site appears — hosted, with email, copy and photos — no builder, no designer, no agency. We use AI inside Veloċi every day. Here's what it genuinely does, what it doesn't, and why the system around it was built by people.
The gap
No knowledge in, no knowledge out. No design experience in, none out. It will always produce something — and because something looks better than nothing, you'll assume it's good. That's the trap: it's built to keep you busy and feeling good, not to get you customers.
The five minutes were never the expensive part. The preparation, the judgement and the tweaking still land on you — and if you keep asking the same tool and pasting what it says, you get the same answer as everyone else who asked.
Promise, reality, and what we do about it
| The promise | What actually happens | How Veloċi does it | |
|---|---|---|---|
| The site | One prompt and it's built. | A first draft that needs hours of tweaking — and you're the one tweaking. | The draft already knows what a plumber's or a café's site has to say. You adjust; you don't invent. |
| Hosting | Included. Somehow. | Still a monthly bill, somewhere, forever. | Optional, flat £51 a year — the same price at renewal. |
| Appears with the site. | A separate product you still have to buy and set up. | A real mailbox at your domain from £37 a year, connected for you. | |
| Copy | Written for your customers. | Written about you — and far too much of it. | Written for the person deciding whether to ring you. One line on why you do this is plenty. |
| Photos | Perfect, instantly. | Generic, or a licence nobody checked. | A curated library for your industry, cleared for use. |
| Design | Trustworthy. | Looks "better than zero", so you assume it's good. | A system designed by people who've watched what converts — then handed to the AI. |
| Customers | They arrive. | Nobody said how. | Your social pages connected today; ads and integrations are next — honestly, not finished yet. |
Use AI — we do. But treat it like a tool, not a staff member. A tool with a monthly fee that still needs hosting, still needs your hours of research and still can't tell good from plausible hasn't replaced anyone; it has added a subscription.
What the minutes really cost
Each answer takes five minutes and feels like magic. But you'll ask again, and again — then fix what it got wrong, find the photos, fight the layout, set up the domain and the email. Put £25–£50 an hour on your own time and it stops looking free.
Don't compare £85 with £19, or with free. Compare it with £19 plus 30–45 hours of your evenings — thousands of dollars of time, spent on a result you have no way to judge. That's the real price of the one-prompt website.
The fine print, in plain English
AI can process an enormous amount of information and hand you an output in five minutes. That's real, and it's exactly why Veloċi can draft a whole site while you finish a coffee.
You're not a marketing company or a web designer — which is fine, you're a business. But it means there's a good chance the design won't be trusted and the copy won't convert. AI copy runs hot: over the top, intriguing, and somehow about you. It tends to tell your whole story when the customer wanted one sentence of it.
The two-second test
Before a word is read, the page has already answered "is this legitimate?". That's design, and it's the part AI guesses at.
ClarityThey want the pros, quickly. Not the journey from childhood to today. One line on why you chose this work is plenty; the rest of the page is about them.
ProofContent that's plausible because it's true — the opposite of copy that sounds intriguing and sells nothing.
Next stepA call to action has to be written like one, and it has to lead to the next step — a call, a booking, a quote. Otherwise it's decoration.
Customers don't care about your autobiography. They want to understand you quickly, trust you faster, and get on with it. AI copy defaults to "we"; copy that converts defaults to "you".
Who this is for
A brand-new business, a music teacher, a tutor, a tradie who needs customers to kick along: you don't need an agency yet, and we won't upsell you one. You need a site that's live today, your social pages connected, maybe a couple of ads for a week or two — and enough customers to be on your way.
That's what Veloċi is for: in minutes, from £85, paid once. Ads and social integrations aren't finished yet; they're next on the list, and we'd rather say so than pretend.
When the business is established and the website has to carry real weight, that's custom work — our Custom Design packages, or Adam's Media Services for the full agency engagement. We'll tell you when you're there. Most launching customers aren't, and that's fine.
Why a person built the system
AI gives you what you give it, so we gave it twenty years of building businesses and the websites that feed them — not one silo. A web designer does web design, a marketer does marketing, a copywriter writes, a photographer shoots. Running businesses teaches you the rest: staffing, systems, the problems customers actually ring about, and what a site has to do to get the phone ringing.
Then six months of eight-hour days, six and a half days a week, refining what a plumber's, a café's or a physio's site has to say before a stranger trusts it. AI didn't do that. It can't, yet. It just makes the last five minutes fast — and that's the part we're happy to let it do.
Pick your trade and see the whole site — copy, photos, structure — then pay once, only if it's right.
